Andy takes on a personal challenge to raise funds for Sail 4 Cancer.

Andy Bates will be raising funds in aid of Sail 4 Cancer whilst competing in the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2007 and is looking for your support to raise his target.

"I'd been meaning to do 'something good' for Sail 4 Cancer for a few years as I live near to the registered office in Kingsclere. I've been sailing for 7 years now , something I decided I must do when I moved to Hampshire. I also realised that there is more to life than working in an office. Losing my cousin to cancer last year made me finally do something about both.

The Middle Sea race is over 600 miles starting and ending in Malta. This looked ideal for me especially as my cousin was half Maltese.

I hope to be able to raise at least £5000 for Sail 4 Cancer and would be grateful for your support. Please help me reach my target as this race now has such personal connections for me."
